Our strategy
The strategy at MHP is to maintain our position as Ukraine’s leading agro-industrial company by expanding our poultry and grain businesses and developing further vertical integration.
We continue to focus of our core business — poultry, a source of high-quality protein, which we produce economically and sell at affordable price on the Ukrainian market.
Our Myronivka farm enabled us to increase chicken productivity in 2010 to 360,000 tonnes a year.
In 2010 in Vinnytsia region we began building a new vertically integrated complex. The production capacity in 2017-2018 will reach to around 440,000 tonnes of chicken meat per year.
We will increase the efficiency of our grain growing activities by applying the latest farming methods, and are also leasing further tracks of land. This will not enable us to gain greater control over the cost of fodder, but will also put us in the best position for the expected change in legislation under which we will have pre-emptive rights to acquire the land. In a future move to control input costs, we will continue to seek and use sources of alternative energy, including co-generation technology.
In addition, we are looking at achieving a greater presence in value-added foods, such as processed meat and convenience foods. We will focus on promoting our branded products, will expand our distribution network to cover most regions and cities of Ukraine, and will continue to resist pressure on prices from the large supermarkets by selling around 40% of our products through our franchise network.
